I’ll admit it... There was a time I thought vinyl records were DEAD. Once the Compact Disc (CD) became mainstream in the early 80's. I believed the hype that CDs were superior and totally gave up on vinyl records. However, over time I found myself constantly trying to obtain a particular quality of sound that seemed to be missing. I would adjust the equalizer for more bass, more depth, more warmth…..something!
Then it happened, ...after years of CD's, tapes and then streaming I bought a turntable, put on one of my favorite Chicago albums and there it was… the warmth, the depth, the bass! I was literally amazed at what I was missing with CDs, tapes and online streaming sources. I felt like I came back to REALLY listening to music again.
Like many of you, I’ve spent a small fortune on my record collection. Some would say I have spent too much on it, but if you’re reading this, you probably understand. Since I rediscovered vinyl, I wanted to make sure I did everything I could to TRULY listen to them. I noticed that many records, in my collection, were visually dusty and dirty. Seeing what was on the surface made me wonder, what was in between the grooves that I couldn’t see. I wanted to minimize the crackle and pops from my collection.
As I researched my options, it appeared that a vacuum system would be one of the most effective approaches to truly clean records. Now I don’t mind investing in products to clean my collection, but I couldn’t justify spending hundreds to thousands of dollars for a vacuum system. I decided to create an option for cleaning my records that didn’t break the bank.
The Vinyl Vac was born! Combined with a good wet cleaning, rinse and a wet vac (using the Vinyl Vac as the final step), it produced AMAZING results. Records that would crackle and pop were now silent, even in between tracks! I knew I couldn’t keep this magical tool to myself, so I made it available to any record collector that appreciates truly clean vinyl records.
